OFFICIAL MINUTES OF BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

 

The Rotary Club of Woodland, WA held their Board Meeting at the Oak Tree in Woodland on April 2, 2007.

 

Meeting was called to order at 12:52 pm by President Kathy Griffin who acted as chairperson, with the following directors present:

Vicky Barnes       John Shoup    Dave Ripp                              

Joy Snead        Carol Rounds     Sandy Larson 

 

1. Secretary’s Report- A motion was made to accept the minutes as read by Dave Ripp and 2nd by Carol Rounds.  All approved.  John S abstained due to absence at previous board meeting.

 

2. Treasurer’s Report- reports are attached to the permanent record

 

3. PTP- No report at this time

 

  1. Foreign Exchange Students- Sherri Walter would like to see if there is someone else willing to be the youth exchange officer.  The standing committee needs to have a meeting.
  2. Rotary Centennial Project- The City of Woodland approved $16,000.00 to finish the skate park.  We need to do the signage.

6.Old Business-.

    1. Larry Schlecht’s leave of absence- the board has approved his leave but we do not have anything in writing from him requesting the leave.  Joy will e-mail and try to get something from him. 
    2. Benno Dobbe’s leave of absence-  We need to touch basis with Benno and see what he would like to do.  We usually do not allow leaves over one year and we are approaching that deadline very soon.  We will be contacting him to see what his intentions are.

 

7.New Business-

A.     We need to look at raising our club dues.  Joy will bring some numbers to the next board meeting so that we can vote on a small increase to cover expenses. 

B.      Dave Ripp and 2nd by Carol Rounds proposed a motion that we would cap the dollar amount for returning foreign exchange students to $1500.00 This will come out of foundation funds.  This can be re-assessed at a later date if needed. 

C.     Golf Tournament will be June 15th.  with a 1:30 shotgun start at the Lewis River Golf Club.

D.     It was decided that we would start putting the board minutes on the web site for every one to read if they wish.

The next regular board meeting is scheduled for May 7, 2007, immediately after the regularly scheduled club meeting at The Oak Tree Restaurant.  Meeting adjourned at 1:18PM.
